Sew Red for Women Needs You!

Yep!  I'm already planning our next Blog Hops!  12 Bloggers, 12 Blocks, 2 per week and a completed quilt in a little over a month and a half!

Are you feeling modern?  Are you feeling wonky?

Your co-star will be be bella solids in the colors of reds, pinks, white and XXX (XXX=chosen accent color).

If you are interested in designing one of the blocks, contact me and let me know what type of Modern and Wonky blocks that you would like to do!

Must haves:
  • You must have a blog
  • You will commit to design one block, but make three blocks.  Two blocks will be returned to us here at Sew Red for Women/Burgundy Buttons to be used in quilts that will be raffled and auctioned for Go Red for Women and the American Heart Association.
  • You must have the means to create quality images of your block project.
  • You must have the ability to write an articulate tutorial understandable by all (well most) skill levels.
  • You must help spread our message by including our Blogcon or logo on your Blog Side bar.
That's enough of the mush haves and must dos.

The modern blocks would be due by June 1 and wonky blocks by October 1 so that we can tally requirements and build kits.  Burgundy Buttons provides the fabric, so there is no cost to you outside of return postage when you send your 2 blocks back.  And your time, we know it's valuable and thank you in advance to donating it to this worthy cause.

Leave a comment, cheer us on!  We look forward from hearing from you!

Welcome!

Welcome to Sew Red For Women!

Sew Red for Women was created to raise awareness of Heart Disease among women by way of creativity and camaraderie within the modern sewing community.

Sew Red For Women will have frequent Sewing and Quilting projects created with our token theme colors of Red & White to inspire you to not only create awesome, fun and exciting projects, but to keep your heart health in the forefront of your mind.

Sprinkled within our projects will be heart health tips that just might save your life and help you FEEL GREAT!

Not a woman?  Well, we'll let you read our blog anyway- because contrary to popular belief, we know you men DO have a heart and we love your heart too!  Besides, we figure you might know a woman or two, whose heart you want to keep healthy as well.

To kick things we having a BLOG TOUR!!

Some of today's most talented bloggers and designers are creating blocks just for Sew Red for Women's Blog Hop!  12 Months of Red & White 12" blocks that will finish into a Heart Healthy heirloom that you will cherish for a life time.  And with your completed quilt, is the daily reminder that your heart is at the center of your body and health!

Don't want to make an entire quilt- no problem!  Any of our blocks can be used to make smaller projects!  Placements, bags, mini quilts there is no limit!

Our hop will use the heart inspired collection Chemistry, by Cosmo Cricket.  Naturally, you may use any fabric you like, but should you wish to use the exact fabrics used in each monthly block, you may purchase the block packs at Sew Red for Women's Sponsor and Founder, Burgundy Buttons.  A link to purchase each pack will be included with the block.  A complete kit is not available at this time, as our fabulous designers are still designing their blocks!

Our hope will kick off on February 3, which happens to be Go Red for Women's Wear Red Day!  So grab our buttons, add them to your blog and get ready to hop, hop, hop for your heart!
